Plain English, because the whole product is an argument against fine print.

The short version

  • We never touch the money guests wager. It goes straight from them to the host on Venmo.
  • $17 for a Pro event is the only thing we ever charge anybody.
  • Predictions are a skill contest. The closest guesses win, and nothing is drawn at random.
  • You must be 18 or older to put money in or take money out.

What this is

This is a party game. Predictions are scored on accuracy, prizes go to whoever guessed closest, and nothing here is decided by chance or a random draw. Where a host collects money, it moves directly between people on Venmo and the host pays it out themselves.

The money

We never touch the money. When a guest wagers, they Venmo the host directly — it goes from their account to the host's, and we never hold it, move it or take a cut of it. The only thing we ever charge anyone is $17 for a Pro event.

If you collect money for your event, it is yours to collect and yours to hand out. You are responsible for the rules where you live.

You have to be 18 or older to put money into an event or to collect it. Anyone can play for free at any age, and a grown-up can enter predictions on a child's behalf.

That means every dispute about a pot is between the host and their guests. We can show a host what their guests said they sent, and that is the whole of what we can do about it.

What we charge

A Pro event is $17, once, for that one event. There is no subscription, no renewal and no second charge. Another baby later is its own event and its own $17.

Pro is $17 for one event, one time. Deleting an event doesn't refund it — the questions, the pot and the payouts were already yours to use.

If you're hosting

  • Enter the real birth outcomes. The scoring is only as honest as what you type in.
  • Pay out what you collected. If you took money for a prize pool, the winners are owed it.
  • Only send your link to people you meant to invite, and use a code if the guest list is private.
  • Don't use an event to collect money you never intend to hand over. We'll close accounts that do.

If you're playing

Play once per person. Playing on behalf of somebody else is fine and encouraged — that is what the proxy entry is for — but stacking entries under invented names to game a pot is not.

Kids

Kids play through a grown-up. We never ask a child for their own email or phone number, and a proxied entry stores only the name it is played under.

Ending it

A host can delete their event from their dashboard at any time, and deleting takes the predictions with it. Deleted links stay retired for good, so an old invitation sitting in somebody's group chat can never land on a stranger's baby.

What we don't promise

The site is provided as it is. We'll try very hard to keep it up and to keep your data safe, but we can't promise it never breaks, and we aren't responsible for what a host does with a pot they collected themselves.

Reaching a person

Write to hello@gambleonmybaby.com. A human reads it.

If we change this

We'll update the date at the top and, if it is a change that matters, email the hosts it affects. We are not going to quietly rewrite the money promise.
